GETTING STARTED

STEP 1:

You need to obtain your learner’s permit for the class of vehicle you wish to drive. Most states will require you to take a DOT physical examination and receive a medical examiner’s certificate prior to the learner’s permit being issued. This is usually referred to as a DOT Medical Card.

To obtain a learner’s permit, you must take the following written knowledge tests at your local DVM office.

 

To obtain a Class A Permit:

  • General knowledge
  • Air Brake
  • Combination Vehicle

To obtain a Class B Permit

  • General Knowledge
  • Air Brake

Step 2:

Once you have obtained your CDL learner’s permit, contact us to schedule your hands on training. Classes fill up quick and can sometimes take 3-4 weeks to get on the schedule.

    Step 3:

    Once you have obtained your CDL Learner’s Permit and are on the schedule for training, you can begin the ELDT (Entry Level Driver’s Training) Theory Course. Our ELDT Theory is available online and required to attend our school. This course must be taken with an 80% passing score to receive the Certificate of Completion. You will need to bring the Certificate of Completion with you to the first day of training.

      To study for the knowledge test, refer to your state specific CDL manual. we recommend the two apps below for your smart phone that can help in preparing for the knowledge tests.
