GETTING STARTED

STEP 1:

You need to obtain your learner’s permit for the class of vehicle you wish to drive. Most states will require you to take a DOT physical examination and receive a medical examiner’s certificate prior to the learner’s permit being issued. This is usually referred to as a DOT Medical Card.

To obtain a learner’s permit, you must take the following written knowledge tests at your local DVM office.

 

To obtain a Class A Permit:

  • General knowledge
  • Air Brake
  • Combination Vehicle

To obtain a Class B Permit

  • General Knowledge
  • Air Brake

Step 2:

Pay the $25 application fee and fill out the enrollment agreement. One of our admissions specialist will then contact you to schedule your start date and give you any additional required information.

    Step 3:

    Send all required documents requested by the admissions specialist and wait for your start date.

     

      To study for the knowledge test, refer to your state specific CDL manual. we recommend the CDL Prep app below for your smart phone that can help in preparing for the knowledge tests.
